Some recommendation letters from a few of our many satisfied clients: February 24, 2005 To Whom It May Concern: I’m writing this letter to recommend the services of the Beijing Computer Repair Company. I work at a university in Jilin Provence, a good 24 hour train ride from Beijing. When my Apple iBook computer broke no one in the computer department had any idea how to fix it. Since I had no time to travel to Beijing I sent my computer to Joe instead. Joe was able to fix the problem quickly and send it back as soon as the time permitted (the post office was closed for a while due to the new year holiday). My computer runs great and he was able to save my files that I thought I had lost. He updated my system and overall it runs better than it did before it crashed! If you’re living in a more remote area (like myself) and if you own an Apple computer (which most Chinese computer repair shops cannot fix) or if you want the comfort of being able to speak English then the best place for you is Joe’s Beijing Computer Repair Company. I highly recommend their services. Sincerely, Carolyn G., Jilin Provence, P. R. China July 5, 2004 To Whom It May Concern: I would like to recommend the services of Joe and the Beijing Computer Company (www.bcco.biz). I work at the US Embassy – Beijing. My association with Joe has been for my home computer, and paid out of my own pocket. Since April 2004, my wife and I had problems with our four year old Dell home desktop computer. At first we tried a Chinese computer repair company but got no satisfaction. We could not communicate with the technician when he came to our home. Then we tried Joe from the Beijing Computer Company and had a much better experience. Joe came to our home and was able to find and fix the problems, plus recommend and set up some things we should have been doing all along. In the end, I was sufficiently impressed with Joe that I decided the best thing was to retire my old computer and work with Joe to get a new computer made to my specifications. High performance desktop PCs can be relatively inexpensive in China if the components are purchased at the big discount stores and assembled at home. Joe and I worked on the specifications for the components, based on my needs. Joe prepared a cost estimate with options for me to choose from. Then we went together to (the store) and made the purchases. I paid directly for the components. The components of a top end computer, plus a genuine copy of Windows XP Professional, cost about $1200. Joe was very thorough to make sure I was getting genuine components for my money. For example, on the Seagate hard drive, he knew there were pirated versions being sold. Before purchasing, he copied down the serial number on the individual drive and called Seagate to make sure it was a real serial number. (It was.) After we purchased all components, he assembled the computer, loaded Windows XP and other programs, and delivered the PC to my home in one day’s time. He then set it up and transferred all my old files/programs from the old to the new computer and answered my many questions. He came over a second day to get everything in top shape. Since the new PC was set up in late May 2004, I have used Joe’s services to learn Windows XP and assist me in setting up new programs and capabilities. Joe charges for this by the hour. I am very satisfied with Joe’s work and would recommend it to others. After having a bad experience with a Chinese technician, who my wife and I couldn’t communicate with effectively, I am glad to be working with an American who has good communications, good technical knowledge, and gives a good product and service for the money. If you would like to verify this recommendation, feel free to call me in my Beijing office at 8XXX-XXXX. Sincerely, (signed) Joseph T. August 19, 2004 To Whom It May Concern: This is a letter of reference for Beijing Computer Company and its proprietor, Joe. My family turned to Beijing Computer Co. when we unpacked our brand new, foreign-purchased PC and it immediately began to have serious hiccups, randomly shutting down and causing a lot of headaches with lost work and interrupted sessions. Our best efforts to fix the problem created only frustration. We were despairing of having sunk a lot of money into a seriously flawed product until Joe paid us a house call and immediately began to restore our confidence. It was clear right away that Joe is methodical, skilled at his work and, perhaps most importantly for the average computer owner, well able to explain complex technical phenomena in plain English. Joe started down his diagnostic checklist and quickly located our problem. Not only was the problem fixed to our complete satisfaction, but a lot of common sense security and performance upgrades were made at the same time. Windows XP and other software settings were adjusted to suit our needs. Manufacturer’s upgrades that we had been unaware of were hunted down, installed, and tested. In short, Joe handed us back a far superior machine to the one we had taken out of the box. Joe was careful to keep us advised as his work progressed and he provided cost estimates at every step of the way. He also explained our options clearly and provided solid advice about cost vs. performance trade-offs. And, bottom line: his work came at a very reasonable price. We are very pleased to have engaged the services of Beijing Computer Company and we have no reservations whatsoever in recommending them to others. Sincerely, (signed) Ray B. |
